Government regulations and state law requires water operators to have a retesting schedule for backflow devices. Ongoing testing is important to ensure the backflow preventer is working correctly and will prevent contaminants from reaching our drinking water in case of water backflow situation. Frequently this test is required annually but in some instances the schedule by the water company may be different.
Nothing. We will contact the water provider with results of the test to ensure they update their compliance records. In addition, a copy of the test report will be sent to you by email for your records. When needed, the GCS Technician will print a paper copy of the report and leave it attached to the device for inspection.
Backflow devices can be found in various places on your property. Often, they are located near the water meter(s). In other instances, the devices may be located up against the building, inside the building where water line comes in, or near special systems that the device serves. These special systems may include water softener, soda fountain syrup and carbonation system, and others. Take a look at our Gallery page to see pictures of backflow devices typical of our area.
